How Many Perfumes Should You Own?
The fragrance industry would like the answer to be “more”. Collectors will say twenty. Minimalists insist on one signature scent for life. The useful answer is smaller than collectors think and larger than one.
The honest framework

Why one is not quite enough

- Indian seasons are extreme. A woody fragrance that is perfect in December is heavy in a 42°C May. A cool aquatic that carries you through summer feels thin in winter.
- Context. The scent for a client meeting and the scent for a sangeet are not usually the same one.
Why six is usually too many
